Unique one of a kind pieces by Mary Russell

The Cowhide Chair

(April 2002) On the front porch of Grandmother’s house set Granddaddy’s cowhide straight chair. On Monday, Grandmother used the chair to air her quilts.  On Tuesday she sat and churned her butter. Wednesdays was for mending.  Grandmother used the chair by day, but after supper Grandaddy claimed the chair to rest from the day and weave his stories, some true - and some not.
