TURKEY TROT POTTERY

Unique one of a kind pieces by Mary Russell

The Fabric of Our Lives

(April 2003) A collection of quilts store the memories that are the fabric of our lives.  Each tells a story of some forgotten scene.  Stars in one’s eyes and hearts aflutter brings to mind the precious days of courtship. Shades of blue define a special wedding day with nervous hands clutching a bride’s bouquet.  The children follow quickly two by two as time passes in a kaleidoscope of revolving pictures. Until solitude ascends and the potter and the fisherman reclaim the courtship years.

Quilt block patterns: Stars and Hearts: Wedding Bouquet: Noah’s Ark: Kaleidoscope; Appliquéd shapes pottery and fish; House.

2 6” pieces form the complete picture.
